Enhancing Image & Safety Through Innovation

Service

"With service being such a focus at G&K, my job is valued and appreciated more then anywhere else I've worked. That's a great feeling. You should try it."

A Service Manager's Story

My Story

Back in 1999, I wanted to join G&K as an account manager, but I was told it would be better to take a route and learn the business first. They said I would be looked at for a promotion within a year or two. I took that to really mean five or seven years; but since their starting wage for a route sales rep was so good, I took the job and got settled in. You can imagine my surprise when, almost a year to the date of my hire, I was promoted to team leader (now known as a route specialist).

After another year, I was again promoted to route manager, overseeing a team of eight route sales reps! I am now enjoying my third promotion as a service manager. It was a personal commitment of mine to G&K to be successful. I felt that if this company strove that hard to make me successful, I owed it to them not to let them down.

Don't ever place yourself out of a career. Many people want to start out at the top without learning the industry. With the right training and development, the sky's the limit here for you.
